In my opinion, the most important job that a business owner can do is to provide good customer service. I believe that good customer service leads to repeat business, which leads to revenue. We did a lot of tests, and I was doing a lot of work in the lab, but I think my main job was to go around the room and say “Hi. I’m Dr. John Smith. I’m helping Dr. Mary Alice.
My business background would suggest I would do well at providing good customer service, but that wasn’t my day to day experience. My day was, and still is, filled with bad customer service. So I think the way to do it is to always provide great customer service. That was my goal when I started my business.
