In the present day, the couple are on a trip to the remote island that the couple didn’t even know existed. There’s the story, but the island is a place for them to try. They’re trying to find a way to get out of there.

As a girl I loved that the game was set up as a story about the couple and it was set in the present day. As a guy I found it disturbing and disheartening that the same people we come to expect to see as a part of the game were the ones who are playing the game. I love the game, but I found it disheartening that the same men who are supposed to be the protagonists were the ones that were trying to kill them.

Yes, the game is about two people trying to escape a place they don’t understand, but the setting of the game is that of a future where the island was designed to be like a city where people live in apartments and the place is open to the public, thus providing a sense of community. I think that’s great for the game.
